Clarke-Oconee Junior Cattlemen's Association
Clarke-Oconee Junior Cattlemen's Association recently held its election for the 2004 - 2005 year. At the meeting they also made plans for the coming year including beef promotion exhibits at the Oconee County Fall Festival, Business Expo and local grocery stores. They are also sponsoring a costume class at the COCA Junior Livestock Exposition to be held on October 2 at Heritage Park. Plans were discussed for becoming more actively involved in statewide Junior Cattlemen's Association activities. Carolyn Gazda will be stepping in as the advisor to the junior association. Tri-State Jr. Cattlemen's Association
DADE COUNTY--The Dade County Extension office held the Area Junior Livestock Day Camp recently at the Dade County Ag Center.  Youth learned important tips on livestock grooming and showmanship.  Participants also competed in team competitions such as herdsman, stall, wash/dry and showmanship.  The event was sponsored by the Tri-State Jr. Cattlemen's Association.  Several parents, volunteer leaders and agents also attended the daylong event.
