Beef for the Classroom Program

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a program being offered to Georgia’s senior high school family and consumer science teachers.  Beef for the Classroom is a program funded by Georgia’s 21,000 beef producers through their $1 per-head beef check off funding. This program provides financial support for the use of beef products as well as valuable resources to help educate today’s youth about nutrition and food preparation skills.

The materials offered in this program include a c.d., recipes, beef basics and meat posters.  Funding is available that allows teachers up to $80 ($40 per semester) in beef gift certificates to be used toward the purchase of beef.  Teachers can also select materials only, without funds.

90 teachers participated in the 2007 Beef for the Classroom program that ended September 30th and our next program will be offered September 2008.  If you would like to have pre-notification of next year’s Beef for the Classroom program please complete the form below and fax it to Tricia Combes, at 478-474-5732 by email tricia@gabeef.org or mail to P O Box 24570, Macon, GA 31212.
